Things to do
Edit This
The Tamar Valley is a wine-growing region, with some of Tasmania's best
known wines. It would be a waste not to visit the many wineries in the
region, since many have nice restaurants and picturesque settings.
Amongst them, are the Bays of Fire winery, with a great garden setting;
Piper's Brook Vineyards, with a lovely cloistered garden; Rosevear's
winery, which overlooks the Tamar valley, and Daniel Alps at
Strathlynn, which is by the water. Most wineries are open to visitors,
and tastings can be done. A local winery map is available from the
Tourist Office.
