Being a moderate sized city, Launceston has a fairly wide range of accomodation to choose from. The cheapest way is probably to co camping (Treasure Island Caravan Park, 94 Glen Dhu Street, tel.: 6344 2600), but if you didn't bring your tent, there are plenty of cheap alternatives in the form of hastels and backpackers. And if you're used to a bit more luxury, Launceston has some exellent hotels as well.
