The Wrest Point Hotel Casino opened in 1973, being Australia's first legal casino (more controversy). It's octagonal tower stands out clearly along the Sandy Bay waterfront, south of the city. Besides rooms, the hotel has a large convention center, a restarant and night club, and of course, the casino. Rooms start at $A 109 per night.
