By Bus

For those without a car of their own, the source of public transport is a bus. Within the major towns there are public bus services that are sufficient for most tourist needs. Between towns there are two major coach services, Tasmanian Redline Coaches and TWT Tassielink. You can use these services to travel the major highways, and where a particular hike leaves from the highway, the driver will know the stop to let you off. If you give an indication of when you plan to finish your walk, the bus will even stop to pick you up as well!
