Often called "Maggie" by locals, Magnetic Island is a favorite holiday destination for domestic and international tourist alike. The island is located approximately 8 kms north off the coast of Townsville in tropical North Queensland, Australia, and can be reached via passanger or car ferry.

Magnetic Island is a water sport haven offering scenic beaches for swimming, fringing coral reefs for snorkeling & SCUBA diving, and plenty of open water for kayaking, sailing and motor boating. Land lubbers can enjoy bush walking on the 23 km of National Park walking tracks as well as a 9 hole golf course.
