Things to do in Bondi Beach
Edit ThisOne of Australia's most famous beaches, Bondi Beach is a little less than a mile long (or approximately a kilometer). Bondi Beach is located on the East Coast of Australia and is on the outskirts of Sydney. Easily accessible by public transport, and heavily monitored by lifeguards, Bondi Beach is the place to be seen.
Aside from the obvious sun, surf, swim and sand, Bondi Beach has a lovely promenade connecting all the beaches. This walkway is ideal for an evening stroll or early morning jog.
The Iceberg Pub
An icon of Bondi Beach is the Iceberg club. The Iceberg Club is located at the South end of Bondi Beach, and above the Bondi Baths swimming pool. The Iceberg club is a licensed swimming club with a fabulous view of the beach. It's ideal for visitors looking for a dip in the water during the winter season (June - August) when the ocean temperature is just too frigid. You can swim year round at Icebergs. You will also find gym, yoga, and massage services here. Entrance is $4.
Pubs and Bars
Bondi Beach is littered with pubs and bars, there is a little something here for everyone. B B's Wine Bar is a great spot for nice glass of Chardonnay on a hot day. Bungabar is a lively Mexican/Latin bar with a little flair. The Rum Diaries is a great spot for a cold drink and delicious tapas. If you are looking for a yummy pizza, then Gelbison Pizzeria is your stop.
The Bondi Beach Markets are held every Sunday from 10am to 5pm at the local public school on Campbell Parade, one block north of the main shopping center, a good spot for the treasure hunters. You can expect to find anything from arts and crafts, to second hand clothes.
Walk from Bondi to Coogee Beach
Take a coastal walk if you have time, estimated 4 hour walk. The walk from Bondi to Coogee is a classic stroll. You will encounter stunning views, white sand beaches, cliffs, and the old Waverley Cemetary. Take a break at Tamarama along the walk for a cold beverage along the water. Some refer to Coogee Beach as the backpacker capital of the world, so be prepared! If you have time and the place isn't jam packed, try to make your way to the top of the Beach Palace Hotel and enjoy the view from the veranda.
