Beaches Intro in Byron Bay
Edit ThisThe beaches of Byron Bay in New South Wales, Australia, have always been famous and popular among tourists. Here are some of the Byron Bay Beaches.
Main Beach
Main Beach, as its name implies, is the main beach spot on Byron Bay. Facing the town of Byron Bay itself, Main Beach serves the primary beach for tourists to visit. This should definitely be the first place to go for anyone visiting Byron Bay for the first time. The popularity of the place also means that safety is a big thing around here – there are restricted surf zones, swim zones, and lifeguards stationed nearly everywhere you can turn to see. This place is also very populated by the surfing crowd, considering the fact that the beach is dominated Surf Club with its lifesaving team patrolling during the summertime. Those who are not keen on surfing but still want to ride the waves can always opt for the easier option of body-boarding, using a float to ride the strong waves of Main Beach.
Clarkes
Located near to Main Beach, Clarkes is found facing the northern part of Byron Bay and the ocean, providing a perfect photography spot for anyone looking for it. Clarkes Beach is popular with the windsurfers and the paragliders, given that the winds around here are stronger. This is the one spot that is particularly prone to the billowing of the north winds, and when they blow, the beach turns nearly isolated, because the winds deem the waves far to strong to ride. Clarkes is also the spot for visitors to watch the famous Byron Bay sunrises, and interstate tourists drive up to Clarkes early in the morning just to catch the sun rising from behind the horizon. Those who prefer a less strenuous morning can always opt to catch the sunset in the evening, which provides an equally beautiful reprieve.
Tallow Beach
Quieter than most of the other beaches, Tallow Beach is no less beautiful. Surfing here can be dangerous, as is swimming, given the fact that the waves are far choppier and erratic than most other Byron Bay spots. But Tallow Beach is popular for another reason – fishing. Beach fishing has become popular among the locals in the recent years, given that it is more challenging than sitting by the river. It can be done at other spots, such as The Pass or Watego’s, but Tallow Beach is slightly quieter and can provide a more calming experience, particularly for first-timers.
