Tam Giang Lagoon
Edit This
Tam Giang and Cau Hai are the two biggest fresh water lagoons in Vietnam stretching over 70km between them. They provide an ideal habitat for a diverse range of species and needless to say the seafood here is excellent.
The lagoon of Tam Giang has an average depth of 2-4m although in some places it reaches 7m. The immense water surface is an area of important economic value for its sea products. Yearly thousands of tons of sea products are harvested here including fish, shrimp crabs and others.
In recent years, the cultivation and raising of sea products, mainly shrimp and the cultivation of "gracilaria", has been developing in this lagoon. Today the province is researching possible investment for building a bridge through Tam Giang lagoon in order to facilitate the development of the economy and tourism in this region.
