Getting Around in Ho Chi Minh City
Edit ThisHo Chi Minh city centre is compact enough to be walkable, except for the hot and humid climate, which almost guarantee you will arrive at your destination a little wet!
Crossing the Road
For first time visitors, this can seem quite daunting, but, in fact, its very easy. Make sure there are no cars, buses, or trucks coming, and then just launch out into the sea of motorbikes coming along the road. Don't stop (that will confuse them) and don't walk too quickly, and they will all just weave around you. Be confident - you will reach the other side of the road quite safely!
Taxis
There are plenty of taxis in HCM. All that I used had meters, and were willing to use them. Flag-fall is around 13,000 to 14,000 Dong - around 85cents US.
The taxi fare to the airport was just short of 60,000 Dong.
