Dan Nang sights reflect the ancient history of Vietnam and the area's rich cultural heritage. Dang Nang is a port city by the South China Sea. It is a commercial and educational hub. Da Nang is well linked to transport systems including air, rail and road. The city was an important site during the Vietnam War.
Museum of Cham Sculpture
The Museum of Cham Sculpture is nestled in the center of the city near the Han River. The museum was founded in 1936. The museum displays an extensive collection of Cham art. Exhibits include a variety of art mediums such as statues, paintings and sculptures. Many of the pieces were found in the ancient city of My Son. Others items were found in Tra Kieu and Dong Duong. The artwork illustrates life in ancient times and offers viewers important historical information. Religious items are on display. The museum building is a beautiful example of French architecture and the surrounding garden is a good place to take a stroll after your museum visit. The museum is open every day. There is a small admission fee.
Cao Dai Temple
Cao Dai Temple is located on Hai Phong. This important temple was constructed in 1956. Inside the temple you can see paintings of saints, Jesus and Buddha. Worship is held by priests 4 times a day.
Marble Mountains
Marble Mountains are located 9 km from the city. The mountains include Kim Son, Thuy Son and Tho Son. Translated, the names of the mountains make up the 4 elements. There are many interesting caves to explore in the area. Temples have been built in some of the caves forming significant sites for worshipers. Am Phu Cave is worth a mention as it offers a view from the top of the mountain. It is also a religious site, adding to the atmosphere of the cave. Tours to the caves are available. Alternatively use local transport. Bring appropriate clothing and footwear for walking. It is possible to hire a guide.
Ba Na Hill Station
Ba Na Hill Station is located 40 km from Danang. In the past this hill station was a popular French resort equipped with comfortable accommodations, restaurants and entertainment areas. The climate on the hill is mild, making it a good place to escape from the heat during summer months. The surrounding area consists of forests. From Ba Na Hill station you will be able to see beautiful views of the sea and mountain ranges. The dilapidated roads make the hills station difficult to access.
