Unfortunately much of the data is carried forward from earlier editions and therefore the value of the information is seriously devalued. This claim is further substantiated by others writing on the Lonely Planet web site.
Quote:"A guide should not be considered to be an accurate , precise document ... just smiled at the errors and had fun anyway ... you didn't die, did you?"
The word 'die' is pertinent for many rely on these guides for planning.

The difficulty any guide publisher has with VietNam is keeping up with the pace of change - which is truly remarkable. Rated as a developing country, VietNam has the vigour and drive of a developed nation.
Whilst the contents of the Fodor's VietNam guide is good, it is dated and therefore its utility reduced.
Check the available publications out at your local library then buy the most suitable for your need.
