Wat Mahathat
Edit ThisThe most important thing to see is the Jinaraj Buddha inside Wat Mahathat (Wat Yai). The wat was erected in 1482 by King Boromatrailokanat of Ayuthaya as the symbol of his domination over Sukhothai and Phitsanulok. The wat, prang, and adjacent viharn were renovated by King Boromakot (1733-58) and completely restored by the Fine Arts Department in 1991.
