Shopping in Pattaya
Edit ThisThe Local Pataya market, cheap clothing and lots of food Fri/Sat/Sun from 6.00pm until 10.00pm. Thsi market is a bit off the normal track, i suggest ask a motor cycle taxi (30-40 baht from walkingstreet) or if you are in a gruop a normal taxi (expect 80 baht total for a group). Only mention "Talaad Theprasit" and he brings you there within 10 minutes.
Another nice market is in Naklua (North of Pattaya) Come early cause this is also a fish market 5.00am-9.00am. Taxi's go there for around 30 baht per person or in a group for 100 baht.
Tourist night market: Next to Tiffany Cabaret.

General Shopping Tips
Pattaya offers many kind of shopping venues. Supermarkets and departmental stores are mostly very big, offering under one roof kinds of shopping experiences. Department stores sell food items, grocery items, cook ware and daily-need products. In most of the supermarkets the major attractions are international clothing and cosmetic brands along with watches and electronic items. Supermarkets generally have many good restaurants and high standard movie halls. Open-air shops located all over Pattaya are usually small shops selling food and non-food items. These shops generally open late and stay open until very late at night. These shops are generally not air-conditioned and bargaining is a must in these shops. The prices asked to a general tourist are often 100 percent more than the actual price of the items. Shop houses are also very common in Pattaya. These are small shops where the owner lives in the back side or at the top of the shop and uses the front side of the home for business purposes. These shops generally sell daily-need products, cook ware and cleaning products.
In Pattaya shopping is done mostly on a cash basis. Credit cards are
accepted in some shops and in most of the
shopping malls. You should
be very careful while using your credit cards as credit card frauds are
not uncommon in
this part of the world. Thai people are very humble
and so a sweet smile on your face while shopping will help you a
lot.
They will often appreciate a sense of humor. You should also be aware
of the tuk-tuk drivers and taxi
drivers as they often, for their own
benefit, will take you to those shopping centers where they get a
handsome
commission for bringing tourists.
Major Shopping Malls
Big C is the most famous shopping mall in Pattaya. It has two
centers, one in Central Center Pattaya and the
other one is located
near the Sukhumvit Road. Big C offers a huge collection of grocery
items, food items, cookware
and plenty of other things. The seafood
section of Big C is the best in all of Pattaya. Central Festival Pattaya
is the biggest beach facing a shopping center in Asia and houses a host
of great shops for buying clothes and fashion items. Mike Shopping
Mall, situated at the entrance of the Beach Road, has decent collection
of international brands in terms of clothes and cosmetics. The
departmental store has a very good and inexpensive food court. Royal
Garden Plaza, situated near the Marriot Hotel, is a recent addition to
the Pattaya shopping landscape. This market has an array of posh
boutiques, restaurants, movie halls and a Ripley's Believe It or Not
museum.
Pattaya Floating Market
Floating markets in all of Thailand were the major business hubs in
older times. Pattaya still retains a big floating
market that
preserves most of its bygone authenticity. The floating market is
situated near Sukhumvit Road. The
market sells fresh vegetables, fish
and other seafood items. This market also sells some local art crafts
and jewelry
items. This market is a must-visit for a foreign tourist.
