Siam Hut

Siam Hut is the next resort north of the Treehouse. Rooms are minimalist bungalows, but with private shower/toilets. The friendly Thai staff, cheap rates, and excellent food all combine to make this place heaven on earth for backpackers. The proximity to the Treehouse 100 meters to the south as the main backpacker party venue makes the atmosphere here more laid-back and peaceful. In addition to a variety of Thai and western dishes produced by the kitchen, at night they fire up a BBQ and offer such dellicacies as baracuda, crab, corn-on-the-cob, and chicken-kebab. Sitting beneath the thatched central pavillion, on the wood plank pier over the water, or at a picnic table right on the beach provides a spectacular view of locals on squid fishing boats with the sunset as backdrop. The front row of bungalows is literally 10 meters from the white sand beach, and 5 meters from a massage hut. Motorbike rentals are available at the front counter, and an internet cafe sits directly on the beach along the path to the Treehouse.

One activity available here is an all-day snorkeling boat trip to Koh-Wai and several other small islands, lunch and fresh fruit included, all for 400 baht.

The Siam Huts resort is owned by the same group as the Siam Beach Resort, a few hundred meters north, but they do not allow use of their swimming pool or other facilities, if you aren't staying with them.
