Pasta Factory

The first thing you notice is the classical music in the background, and the décor. Oh the décor, magnifico!

It's cozy, romantic, trendy and offers probably the best service you will find outside the big hotels. Popular with the local community, tourists and Bangkokians alike, it seems to have grown from strength to strength the last years.

Pasta Factory Hua Hin with Mutly and Hannes has also featured on Thai TV Channel 11 and in many international magazines. Inside the restroom area are a few visitor's books, and judging from the many comments written on the wall in the restroom it's one of the best points of Pasta Factory, along with the food of course. The food (Roasted breads, salads, soups, pasta, pizza, Thai and international selection, seafood specialities) is extremely reasonable and very good.

As a matter of courtesy, I won't edit the above review, which was obviously written by the owners of the restaurant.  As a foreigner who has been traveling to Thailand for 20 years and living here for the last ten, I can say without reservation the Pasta Factory is the worst dining experience I have had in the Kingdom.  Judging from lofty attitude of the owner (who served me), the hour-long wait for a meal (when there were maybe 3 tables occupied in the place), and the low quality of the food, Pasta Factory is a case of a European/Thai couple (I envisioned the wife cooking single-handedly in the kitchen) with no hospitality experience trying to bring off an approximation of an Italian restaurant.

I am generally inclined to be supportive of an entrepreneurial effort, but my experience was so alarmingly bad that I felt compelled to write about it here (where I learned about the place).  I have never written an online review before; Pasta factory demanded that I start.
