Don Muang Airport
Edit This
Don Muang International Airport is located north of the city. A departure tax of 500 Baht is levied on all international
departures.
International and Domestic flights are now from Suvarnabhumi airport, Bangkoks new airport. Unlike the old airport there is no rail link to getting into Bangkok and that means taking a bus or taxi. Taxis into central Bangkok will cost about 300 baht + the freeway tolls (50 baht) so if two or more of you are sharing its probably the best option. For those wanting to save a few baht or if are travelling to Pattaya or further, the airport buses run into some handy locations where you can also use the BTS (skytrain) to get a round.
Public Bus Service to Bangkok from Suvarnabhumi Airport
Bus Number 549 - Minburi
Bus Number 550 - Happy Land
Bus Number 551 - Victory Monument (Expressway)
Bus Number 552 - Bang Na (On Nut BTS station)
Bus Number 553 - Samut Prakan
Bus Number 554 - Don Muang Airport (Expressway)
Public Bus Service to other provinces
Bus Number 389 - Pattaya
Bus Number 390 - Talad Rong Kluea
Bus Number 825 - NongKha
When arriving in Bangkok, you will need to put an adress on your immigration card, so its wise to pre-book a hotel or guest house for at least the first night or two. You can get much better rates by booking on-line
