The three-story mall sits on a 12.7-hectare property with a total gross floor area of 80,000 sq m, bringing the company’s total gross floor area to 2.5 million sq m.  The company has a total land bank of 173 hectares in 12 prime locations, which will be used for its continuing mall expansion within the next five years.

The mall is already 80-percent lease awarded, with a total of 243 tenants so far.  Anchors include SM Department Store, SM Supermarket, Surplus Shop, Ace Hardware and Our Home.  There are 4 opera­tional cinemas: while there are 31 food court and restaurant tenants, in­cluding Pizza Hut, Jollibee, Ken­tucky Fried Chicken, Coffee Dream, among many others. 

The group’s 19th mall, SM City Batangas, is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of this year.  It will have a gross floor area of 71,000 sq m.

SMPH has earmarked P5 billion for capital expenditures (capex) this year, and another P5 billion for its capex next year. 

Construction has begun on the group’s flagship SM Mall of Asia at the Roxas Boulevard Bay Area.  In its first phase, the SM Mall of Asia will open in the last quarter of 2005 with a gross floor area of 300,000 sq m, comprised of a main mall, an entertainment mall, and two parking buildings. 

SM City San Lazaro (Manila) and SM City Molino (Cavite) are also set to open next year.
