Sights in Quezon Province

Edit This

Quezon is one of the largest provinces in the Philippines, with hundreds of Quezon Province sights that you can discover. From its great beaches to its rich forestry, there are several interesting sights to see in Quezon Province.

Mt. Banahaw

This majestic mountain is located on the borders of Dolores, Lucban, Sariaya and Laguna. Mt. Banahaw is one of many active volcanoes in the Philippines. Locals believe that Mt. Banahaw is a holy mountain, and that supernatural beings live inside it. You can take a trip to experience the beautiful waterfalls, caves and unique rock formations found at Mt. Banahaw. During the holy week, there are plenty of hiking activities and pilgrimages that take place along the trails of this sacred mountain.

Pagbilao Grande

The Pagbilao Grande is situated in Tayabas Bay, near the coast of Pagbilao and Padre Burgos (both in Quezon). This can be compared to the islands of Pangasinan; however, the Pagbilao Grande consists of larger yet fewer islands. You can enjoy pure white sandy beaches and crystal clear seawater at Pagbilao Grande, which offers fishing, snorkeling and island hopping. Another great feature of the Pagbilao Grande is the Tulay Buhangin, where dunes form sand bridges connecting to the islets of Padre Burgos during low tide.

Minasawa Bird Sanctuary

This beautiful island is part of Polillo Island, just outside the town of Jomalig.  The Minasawa Bird Sanctuary is a 4.5-hectare island that houses five different species of birds: Black Naped Orioles, Amuslings, Nutmeg Imperial Pigeons, Swifts, and Rufus Night Herons. You can see hundreds of these birds all over the island sanctuary, which is protected by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Puting Bato

Puting Bato is a collection of huge limestone cliffs located in the Barangay Puting Bato in Burdeos, Quezon. As approach the cliff walls, you will see small caves that serve as nests for resident birds. Within the Barangay, you can also find an isolated white sand beach and umbrella-like rock formations.

Quezon National Park

This vast, government-protected area (over nine million hectares!) is located near Atimonan, Pagbilao and Padre Burgos. Quezon National Park includes a picturesque backdrop of lush vegetation, springs, creeks, waterfalls, ravines and gorges. Here you can find thousands of species of flora and fauna that are only found in the Philippines. Within Quezon National Park, you can also find the historical Pinagbanderahan, where the ancient Filipinos planned their revolution against the Spanish colonists.
