Geography
The province covers the total area of 870,650 hectares and stretches from the province of Aurora in the north to the Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur in the south. The Sierra Madre mountains run at the side of the Quezon province. The main islands of Quezon are Alabat and Polillo. The highest point of the place is Mt. Banahaw which is an extinct volcano. The place has sufficient geothermal power. It is supplied to the Makban geothermal power plant. Population In 2000, the total population of the Quezon province was 1,482,950. Sariaya city was the densest in terms of population. It had about 8 percent of the total population. The people here are mostly Tagalogs and are about 90 percent of the total population of the province. It also has Bisayas and Bicolanos, as well. The gender ratio recorded was 1050 males per 1000 females. However, the median age of the Quezon recorded was just 20 years. Economy The Cubao is the commercial center for the Quezon Province. It has numerous shopping malls and the big Aurora Tower, as well. The farmer's market can also be seen there. The city also has a venue for various events and concerts at the Araneta Coliseum. Quezon also benefits from the major television broadcasting networks such as ABC, ABS-CBN and IBC. Visas All the tourists who wish to stay at the province for more than 21 days need a visa.
