Submarine Garden: Padre Burgos
One whole day may not be enough to explore the entire Submarine Garden in Padre Burgos. This superficial coral area is home to different marine creatures like sea cucumbers, starfish, gorgonians, sea urchins and jelly fish. The Padre Burgos Submarine Garden is also a perfect place to engage in water sports like snorkeling and scuba diving.
Minasawa Bird Sanctuary
It’s nice to be one with nature and to see and explore its hidden treasures. If you are visiting the province of Quezon, you might not want to miss the Minasawa Bird Sanctuary in Burdeos. This is a 4.5-hectare government-protected sanctuary, which serves as home to 5 different species of birds. You can see the Nutmeg Imperial Pigeon, the Rufus Night Heron, the Black Nape Oriole, the Swift and the Amusling.
Atimonan Rock-climbing
If you love physical adventures, you will definitely enjoy rock climbing in Atimonan, Quezon. This site used to be a rock quarry site but was abandoned and now serves as marvelous rock climbing site for mountaineering clubs and individual climbers as well. The site has great rock and limestone formations, hangs, cracks and pocket holds. Climbers can explore 6 different routes that range from 10m to 40m in height.
Amang Kalayangin Fish and Wildlife Sanctuary
Another hot spot to visit in this province is the Amang Kalayangin Fish and Wildlife Sanctuary in Pitogo, Quezon. This is a small island that is home to different flora, fauna and other wildlife creatures. Along the shores you can find a variety of fish and other marine life.
Villa Escudero
If you want to experience rural living and rich Quezon culture you can visit the well known Villa Escudero. It is a plantation and resort situated in the border of Tiaong and Dolores, Quezon. Some of the things you can do here are boating, swimming and bird watching. You can also play some sports like tennis, basketball, billiards, bicycling and ping-pong. You can also visit the family museum, watch the cultural shows or ride the traditional kalesa. Afterwards you can sit near the crystalline waterfalls and enjoy some local food. If you want to stay overnight you can also check in and stay in the family cottages made of indigenous materials.
