You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to experience a great holiday in Quezon. These few Quezon Province budget travel ideas will help you enjoy an excellent holiday.

Budget Travel

Quezon province is accessible by land and water, so if you want to visit this beautiful province you can either take the bus or ride the ferry. If you take the bus, simply ride the route to Lucena City, which is a 3-hour journey. This bus ride will cost you Php 250, or US $5. From here you can ride the jeepneys, the tricycle or the bus to reach your desired destinations. You can also take a ferry ride to Dalahican Port, in Lucena City.

Budget Accommodation

There are lots of affordable places to stay in Quezon province. However, don’t look for popular hotel chains in this province, for there are none. Great accommodations available in Quezon are like hitting two birds with one stone, because most are resorts and hotels rolled in one. If you want to stay close to the capital city of Quezon, you can check into Queen Margarette Hotel or Diamond Resort and Hotel, both of which offer day tours and have swimming pools and recreational facilities.

Cheap Destinations

If you love beaches, there are several beautiful ones here in Quezon, particularly in the towns of Sariaya, Pagbilao, Polilio, Padre Burgos and Infanta. Most of the beaches are undeveloped and you don’t have to pay any fees, but there are a few that require a minimum entrance fee of about US $2 per person. If you want more adventure, you can go hiking and discover the hidden beauty within the vast woodland and coastlines of Quezon. There's the Minasawa Bird Sanctuary in Burdeos, the Sungawan Cave in Pagbilao, the Quezon National Forest Park, Malaking Bato in Mulanay and a lot more.

Budget Dining

If you want affordable foods there are lots of eateries around the province, most of which are located along the street or within the market.  These eateries, or turo-turo, offer different dishes for only Php50 or US $2 per serving. If you want to dine in the upscale restaurants, you can try Buddy’s Restaurant located in SM City Lucena and other restaurants in neighboring towns like Tayabas and Lucban.

Budget Shopping

If you want to shop for souvenirs or basic necessities, you can go to the malls. There are two major malls in Lucena City, SM City Lucena and Metro Gaisano. Both house different boutiques and shops, supermarket, restaurants, café, entertainment center and crafts stores. If you want to buy local handicrafts and merchandise you can shop along the small craft stores, as these are places where you can get great bargains.
