Edit This
The city of Olongopo is situated in the Zambales province of the Philippines. Olongopo is a city full of tradition that is found near Bataan and Pampamga. It has a bay and it has wonderful weather. It was not until 1959 that the United States granted independence to the city of Olongopo and made it a municipality of the Philippines. Today we are fortunate to have a place where we can learn about the history of this city and its struggles in the past, thanks to the Olongopo City Museum.

City of Olongopo Museum

The museum of the city of Olomgapo has many different exhibits representing the important events in the history of the city. It also has statues of the famous patriarch of Olongopo Ulo Ng Apo. Father Apo, as people would always call him, was known for his fairness and his ability to resolve conflict. One of the most imposing items in the museum is the gate that the Spaniards built to fortify their arsenal. You can also see scenes of the tragedies that happened at Olongopo during WWII which help us understand how Olongopo became a well-respected city of the Philippines.

Olongopo has received an award by UNESCO for being a city of peace. This city will continue to grow and is an example of efficiency to the rest of the region.
