University Of Saint La Salle
Edit This10 hectares of land was donated by Hon. Alfredo Montelibano to the Christian Brothers. The La Salle College was Founded by Bro. Dennis Ruland, FSC, Bro. Hugh Wester, FSC, and Bro. Felix Masson.
The University Grounds serves as host to 2005 SEA Games for Beach Volleyball and Boxing. The University serves as the catalyst of transfprmation of Bacolod City and also to the whole country, garnered as one of the top 20 Universities in the country and being outstanding in its fields of discipline covered under its curriculum.

University of Negros Occidental Recoletos
Edit ThisThe Oldest University in Negros Occidental was founded in 1941 by Dr. Antonio A. Lizares (whose mansion next to the university is one of the city's landmarks) and his nephew, Dr. Francisco Kilayko. The school began in the Lizares family hometown of Talisay and was first known as the Occidental Negros Institute. Closed when World War II broke out, the Institute re-opened in 1946 but this time in Bacolod City, where elementary, high school and three tertiary degree programs were offered. Mariano Ramos Ancestral House

The Mariano Ramos Ancestral House, was the the home of the first el Presidente del Municipal of Bacolod.
During World War 2, this house was occupied by the Japaneses and became the foothold for command and coordination since it had a 3-storey octagonal tower which gave a full view of Bacolod City.
Today the Mariano Ramos Ancestral House stands as historical site in Bacolod City.
