When the Sacred Heart Seminary had some renovations done, the University of St. La Salle offered to be a repository of the diocesan ecclesiastical objects. In 1997, Administration decided to fuse the University Research Institute with the repository with the addition of artifacts and relics donated by the Vega Family under the care of Cecile Nava, PhD, with the official name Museo Negrense de LA Salle. Within six years, the collection grew through the efforts of former University President Br. Gus Boquer, FSC, the generosity of the patrons and donors, and more..
