Visit Mactan Island Aquarium

The Mactan Island Aquarium has been established recently in Cebu and is just 20 minutes away from downtown Cebu. It showcases a wide variety of marine life such as sharks, jellyfish and octopus. Visit Beaches

Cebu is home to some of the best beaches in the world. The beaches have clear emerald water and clean sand. Tingko Beach has a huge shoreline of white sand. You can take an early morning walk as the sun slowly rises high up in the sky. Panagsama Beach is considered to be a perfect diving site as there are lots of marine life to be found underneath the sea. You can even get lucky enough to get a chance to swim with a shark! There are lots of resorts here that offer a wide variety of accommodations. Diving equipment is available at very reasonable rates.

Visit Various Sights

The family can visit the various sites in Cebu. These would include the Basílica Menor del Santo Niño which is a beautiful church that has been dedicated to the Holy Child. Magellan’s Cross is a landmark and was embedded by explorers in the 16th century. The cross is encased in a stone rotunda and is next to Basílica Menor del Santo Niño. You can also visit the Fuerza de San Pedro Park that has an open air theater. There is a museum that has a display of Spanish paintings and sculpture. The Lapu-lapu and Magellan shrines are also worth visiting as they have monuments that honor the chieftain Datu Lapu-Lapu and the explorer Magellan, respectively. You can also visit the Cebu Taoist temple that has a library as well as a souvenir shop along with a chapel.
