Day Trips in Angeles City

Edit This

Angeles City day trips are a great way to extend your vacation in the Philippines. Why not head to one of the nearby cities or volcanoes for some added adventure? Here's a look at some nearby locations to help you get the most out of your visit to Angeles City. Day trips are definitely the way to go!

Clark (Air Force City) - Distance: 5.2 kilometers

The closest destination is most probably Clark, where you can get your fill of shopping and nightlife. The area is famous for duty-free shopping and late night casinos. You can get your fill of a variety of foods at the many restaurants and take in a bit of leisure time with a trip to any of the golf courses and country clubs.

San Fernando - Distance: 17.3 kilometers

This city is most famous for two of its annual festivals: the Good Friday Lenten Rites performed every Easter and the Giant Lantern Festival each December. They are definitely the best times to visit. However, year round you can enjoy other aspects of the town. The Archdiocesan Museum and Archives holds antiques, artwork and various church paraphernalia from the 17th century onwards and be sure to stop at the cathedral as well. There are also many lantern factories that can be visited, an interesting activity in this place where they make the biggest lanterns in the world. Finally, Hilaga Philippines is a cultural village with exhibits to showcase the four regions of Luzon, as well as a swimming pool, rock climbing center and live music.

Mt. Arayat - Distance: 17.9 kilometers

Start out at Arayat National Park with a picnic on a sunny day. You can see the natural waterfalls or swim in any of the park's three full-sized swimming pools. The natural spring waters are said to be very good for the skin. You can then hike up to the top of this dormant volcano for incredible vistas over Luzon. You may even catch sight of some of the steam that occasionally rises from fissures in the ground.

Mt. Pinatubo - Distance: 25.1 kilometers

This Angeles City day trip is perhaps the most thrilling, as it brings a bit of danger along. The volcano last erupted in 1991 with devastating force. Today you can schedule a trek (you'll require a guide) to the crater lake at the top, where you can go for a dip or admire the views. There's a shorter trail available in the summer, but be prepared to take the longer one during the rainy season. Either way, it's not meant for those who aren't at least in decent physical shape. You can also visit Pinatubo Spa Town for a mud bath and massage or a dip in the hot springs.
