Port Moresby
Edit ThisPort Moresby is also a superb natural harbour situated in the south-east corner of the country. The city houses some famous attractions like the National Museum and New Parliament, the latter built in traditional Sepik “haus tambaran” or Spirit House style. Don’t miss out on the interesting and spirited debates held in the parliament if you are there. The National Museum is the best place to begin your sightseeing expedition in the city, though it remains closed on Fridays and Saturdays. Within the city limits are situated a modern university campus and the National Botanical Garden. On Fridays, you can visit the Moitaka Wildlife Sanctuary, which is known for its crocodile farm.
At a distance of around 50 km from Port Moresby is the Sogeri Plateau, which has a cool and sylvan environment. Some other attractions in the city are Idler’s Beach, Sinasi Reef, Boroko, Gordons, and Daugo Island.
