Sights

Attractions are few and far in between. Some aspects of the old traditional ways of village life, revolving around feasts and festivals, are disappearing. Wooden early 20th century colonial style buildings are also vanishing under the new development.

If you are friendly with a local and are fortunate enough to be invited to their homes, you might see an older style home modelled on traditional Chinese layout, although recreated using functional dour concrete. These houses usually provide shelter for a large extended family, centred around a large, open-roofed courtyard where laundry and cooking (usually on a cast iron stove) takes place.
