Kubah National Park

Kubah National Park is located 20 km from Kuching and can be accessed either by car or day tour with a local operator.  Attractions at the park include the beautiful rock pools, cascading waterfalls and interesting wildlife. Enjoy a day trip and bring a picnic to enjoy the pleasant surrounds of the park. The three waterfalls within the park are Sungai Ragu, Sendok and Buluh.  Head to the western corner of the park if you plan on visiting the Metang Wildlife Center. A visit wouldn't be complete without observing the fascinating orangutans.

Sarawak Cultural Center

The Sarawak cultural center is located approximately 35 km from Kuching. If you enjoy soaking up the culture of a region, then be captivated by the dance performances of different ethnic groups. It's a feast for the eyes as dancers parade their colorful costumes to the beat of traditional music. Learn about the way of life of different ethnic groups such as the Bidayuhs, Ibans, and Melanau people as you visit their longhouses.

Civic Center

The Civic Center is a major landmark in Kuching and a visit to the tower is not to be missed. The building is a distinct umbrella shaped building located on Jalan Taman Budaya. Take the elevator to reach the top of the tower and be greeted by panoramic views of Kuching. Although Kuching has seen recent developments, it has still managed to maintain its leafy outlook. On a clear day, view picturesque Mount Serapi and Mount Santubong in the distance.

Bako National Park

If you are a wildlife and nature lover, take a visit to the Bako National Park, Sarawak's oldest national park. To get to Bako, catch a bus or taxi from Kuching to Kampung Bako, then take a short boat trip to get to the park. Take a number of interesting walks through the park to explore its flora and fauna. Enjoy spotting the proboscis monkeys, long tailed macaques and the silvered langur. Beautiful beaches, wind swept cliffs, and unique rock formations showcase the wild beauty of Bako.

Sarawak Museum

For history buffs, the Sarawak Museum is one of the best museums to visit in Malaysia.  Learn about different ethnic groups, explore the collection of fauna on display, and understand the role and influence that the petroleum industry has had in Sarawak. The museum is located around the corner from the Tua Pek Kong Temple on Tun Abang Jahi Openg Road.
