There are parks, malls, flea markets, entertainment centers, monuments, spas and a whole lot of other exciting destinations to keep tourists on their toes. Here is a super guide to have an enjoyable family vacation in the Malaysian Capital.
Kanhcing Rainforest Waterfall
To modify a famous adage, a family that treks together stays together. Get your tribe’s trekking attire in place and go for an exciting trail through the road that leads to Keopang and Rwang on a discovery of the lush rainforest of Kuala Lumpur situated adjacent to the Templers Park. There are some pretty-looking waterfalls along the walking trail along with a few rare botanical species. The parking area has a number of snack joints including a Kentucky Fried Chicken Outlet. Make sure you carry an extra set of clothes for a post water-play change along with plenty of water and food. Entrance is RM 1 for adults and an extra RM2 for car parks.
Kuala Lumpur Bird Park
This one scores majorly with the kids. The largest walk-in aviary in the world features some of the most vibrant and stunningly colored birds flying around in a natural and peaceful environment. The setting is complete with added frills and enhancements like ponds and waterfalls along with flower gardens and artificially created springs. The experience of birds flying all over your head and sitting at your feet is memorable. Visitors can indulge in a nice bird feeding session and view a variety of birds including the mammoth ostrich.
Suria KLCC Mall
The swanky shopping mall housed in the basement of the Petronas Towers is a great family recreation center that features several up market boutiques and a well-maintained and beautifully designed aquarium along with a games and entertainment center for children. The sprawling food court houses a number of international fast-food outlets. Suria KLCC is a good idea for shopping and an evening out with the kids.
Lake Gardens Park
The expansive play grounds of the park coupled with a nice boathouse featuring a range of fruit, drinks and ice-cream stalls are a hit with the kiddies and their parents as well. The Lake Gardens Park is a nice place to take the children for an early morning stroll.
Kuala Lumpur is a quintessential family holiday destination that features a number of interesting attractions that cater to diverse age groups.
