7 Day Itinerary in Kuala Kubu Baru

In the sleepy quaint town of Kuala Kubu Baru, there is much to see and do for  the visiting tourist to the adrenalin-pumped backpacker. Using this Kuala Kubu Baru Itinerary, you’ll be able to spend a good 7 days here packed with exciting activities.

Day 1- Sample the Town’s Local Food and Temple Visit

Since you’ve just arrived here, in all probability you will be really hungry, so if it’s still early in the morning you can get a chance to sample the real local delicacies at Kuala Kubu Baru’s only morning market which runs from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. After this, head to the town’s singular temple known as Gian Yin Gu See, known for the fact that it survived the great 1883 floods.

Day 2- Bask in Nature’s Beauty

Now that you are a bit relaxed, it’s time to take in the gorgeous views of Kuala Kubu Baru. Rent a car and in 2 hours flat you’ll have arrived at the trekking entrance to reach the Chilling Waterfalls. It’s a 1 and a half hour trek there, so be prepared with enough water, snacks and a pair of water shoes since the trek requires one to cross around 6 rivers!

Day 3- Settle Well into the Sleepy Town

There isn’t much to do in Kuala Kubu Baru but simply unwind. In fact, the sleepy town is filled with quaint old houses. If you take a stroll down the winding lanes of Kuala Kubu Baru’s quaint township area, you’ll find many old world structures and café shops galore. Visit Yun’s bakery at tea time for extremely freshly prepared bakery offerings.

Day 4- Go White Water Rafting

It’s time to pump up the energy and head into the gushing river for some white water rafting action. Take a walk on a picturesque nature trail with the help of one of the many guides. On the way you’re sure to spot local women carrying baskets of bamboo shoots and fishing rods heading home for supper.

Day 5- Hire a Bicycle

Visit the Flying Rhino guesthouse for some excellent food ranging from traditional Malay to international cuisine. You will be able to rent good bicycle for cheap from here itself. Ride around the town and blend in.

Day 6- Visit a Hill Station

To get away from the tropical humidity, take a bus from Kuala Kubu Baru and head to Fraser’s Hill for some cool weather. Here you’ll find many restaurants and a market that supplies fresh foods. You can also pick up Malaysian souvenirs from here. Return back the same day using the regular bus service.

Day 7- Go Bird Watching

While on Fraser's Hill or even if you are back in the old town of Kuala Kubu Baaru, head out with a pair of binoculars and indulge in some bird watching.
