If you have decided to go shopping in the city, here are some places which are sure to give you a great time.

Pasar Siti Khadijah

If you are in for a more traditional feel of shopping in the city, then you should definitely visit the Pasar Siti Khadijah, otherwise known as the Kotabharu Central Market. Everything you can think of is sold here. Many vendors are women. Markets like the Pasar Siti Khadijah are great for discovering local goods and products as well as having a taste of local cuisine and sncack sold by sidewalk vendors.

Nasi Kerabu and Ayan Percik

These are two notable markets which are frequented by travelers and locals. Nasi Kerabu exemplifies the hustle and bustle of market life of Kotabharu. Stalls in this market offer a place to dine for lunch. Ayam Percik, a night market, is as alive as any daytime market, with delicious meals to try and native products and goods to buy.

KBTC (Kota Bharu Trade Center)

The more modern shopper will appreciate the KBTC because it is the biggest mall in the city, and it just opened its doors to the public during August 2009. The KBTC is composed of two buildings which are linked on the 2nd floor. One of the most popular things travelers like to buy when visiting the trade center are hand-printed batiks. These are beautiful clothes with diverse designs, and there are plenty of options to choose from. Other places to buy batik-designed clothes include the Citra Batik near the PCB Beach and the town’s KB Mall.
