7 Day Itinerary in Kluang
Edit ThisThe Malaysian town of Kluang has a lot of offer for visiting tourists and backpackers alike. Using this Kluang itinerary, a comprehensive 7-day list of things to do, you can decide for yourself which activities you are interested in.
Day 1- Visit a Theme Park
Visit Kluang’s theme park called Tropical Village in Johor. Described by many as Malaysia’s answer to Disneyland’s “It’s a Small World” section, this theme park comprises many sections like Landmarks, Leisure Corner, Playground and Agriculture. Don’t forget to check out the miniature replicas of famous structures around the world like the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, The Statue of Liberty and the Great Wall of China. The entrance fee is around $50.
Day 2- Spend a Day at Kluang’s Highest Point
Trek up to Kluang’s famous mountain where you’ll be pleased to find a resort with full facilities and a playground, too. The trek is not difficult and takes around 2 hours to reach the top. From this high point, you’ll be able to see Kluang in a different light!
Day 3- Make a Breakfast Stop
Visit the PKH Coffee Shop, commonly referred to as the Old Morning Market Coffee Shop by locals, in Kluang. Once here, a not-to-be-missed breakfast item is the coffee shop’s toasted bread smothered with butter and kaya (coconut and egg jam). The black coffee is also excellent. This café is situated on the main street of Kluang.
Day 4- Visit a National Park
Head to Tanjung Piai National Park in the southern-most tip of Johor for a day spent in the midst of nature. Here, you’ll be sure to see migratory birds like the sandpiper and the greenshank and many other animals. This area of Johor also houses some fantastic seafood restaurants and also offers a great view of the sea.
Day 5- Visit Little India
Kluang’s Little India area is dotted with superb Indian restaurants and Indian goods like Indian attire and spices.
Day 6- Visit an Old Church
Pay a visit to St.Louis Church which is situated at the end of Jalan Omar, close to the Kluang Railway Station. Built in 1964, this church is known for its architecture.
Day 7- Buy Kluang Souvenirs
Stock up on some souvenirs to take back home. These would include ceramic pottery, crystal glass flowers and handmade straw handbags. Also, you might want to shop for Kluang’s well known coffee powder, dried fruits and pickled fruits and vegetables.
