This 45-minute night boat tour will be a cherished memory for your family when they see thousands of fireflies lighting up the night over the submerged mangroves. One by one, the bushes on the banks of the Lebam River light up with tiny lights, and are best seen on a moonless night. They are more numerous after a shower.

Locals will tell you that the fireflies are a dying breed, and this is one place that conserves these insects. Travelers suggest that you time your visit during the two weekends after Chinese New Year when the area is not so crowded with tourists, who flock here to see this magical sight.

The guided tour available on site will provide you with interesting information about unusual fruits like bread fruit, passion fruit, durian and dragon fruit grown on this 100-acre farm.

The kids will enjoy petting the goats, rabbits, monkeys, ostriches, chickens and turtles in the mini zoo. They can also feed the fish in the many ponds on the farm. In fact, “fish therapy” is growing in popularity, as the gently nibbling fish are known to exfoliate and rejuvenate skin. 

Sultan Abu Bakar Royal Palace Museum
                         

This 19th century opulent palace museum has some spectacular exhibits such as chairs carved from crystal, beautiful Chinese pottery and silver-plated ceramics to marvel at. Also on display are gold coins and Johor’s first postal stamps. The Sultan of Johor still holds important state ceremonies here.

Dasaru Beach

Also known as Pulai Dasaru Beach, this is one of the most famous in Johor and is referred to as the “Last Unspoiled Corner of Southeast Asia.” Apart from 26 km of clean sands bordered by casuarina trees, the beach is great for a swim and offers top class accommodation with fun water sports.

Pulau Tinggi Island

On this island with its white sands, transparent blue waters and lush tropical forests, you will feel refreshed after the hectic life of the city.
