7 Day Itinerary in Johor Bahru

Johor Bahru is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Malaysia. Given its rich history and proximity to Singapore, the city is a good place to enjoy your holiday. The following is an itinerary you could use for a week in Johor Bahru.

Day 1
Sultan Abu Bakar Royal Palace Museum


Start your first day by visiting the Sultan Abu Bakar Palace Museum. This is the former residence of the Sultan of Johor, and although it's still used occasionally, it is open to the public. The palace has been refurbished on several occasions but still holds its visitors in awe. It's open Saturday to Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; there is an entrance fee of $7 for foreigners.

Day 2

Johor Bahru Art Gallery


Spend a day visiting the Johor Bahru Art Gallery. The building was built in 1910 and displays several art works, but mostly Malaysian paintings. Admission to the art gallery is free.

Day 3

Saleng Zoo


A day at the zoo is not only relaxing but educational as well. Spend a day at this private zoo and enjoy the various animals and species that are housed here. The zoo is very well maintained and is located close to Senai Town.

Day 4

Tanjung Puteri Resort Golf Course


This is one of the largest golf courses in Johor Bahru. The course is owned by the resort and is one of the best places to enjoy a day playing golf. The course is professionally designed to give you maximum pleasure while playing your game.

Day 5

Water Sports


Enjoy a day out with the whole family at Dan’s Dive Base. This is one of the most popular water sport bases in Johor Bahru. Activities include scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing and much more. The base is open from morning to evening.

Day 6

Shopping

Now that you’ve had a chance to visit and enjoy parts of Johor Bahru, it's time for some shopping. There are several shopping malls in Johor Bahru, a few examples are: JARO Handicrafts Center, City Square and AEON Tebrau City. Remember, you can bargain at many places and get some good discounts.

Day 7
Endau-Rompin National Park

A trip to Johor Bahru is incomplete without visiting the Endau Rompin National park. The park is the oldest tropical rainforest in the world and stretches over 488 square km. There are various activities at the park. It's open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
