Museums in Ipoh
Edit ThisDarul Ridzuan Museum
Edit This"Darul Ridzuan" is the Arabic honorific title for the state of Perak. Opened on 18th August, 1992, it is museum about the history and development of Ipoh, and the mining and forestry industry of Perak. The pretty, almost doll house-like building was originally built over 80 years ago as a home for a tin miner-turned-millionaire named Foo Choong Yit, before being bought by local government and used as an administration centre.
For those interested in architecture, the museum provides pictorial information on the colonial heritage buildings in Ipoh.

Edit ThisAs you'd expect from a place rich as geologically interesting as Ipoh, there is the Geological Museum, established in 1957 and housing over 600 geological specimens of minerals, ores, precious stones and metals, fossils and apparently the world's best examples of cassiterite.
