Georgetown Travel Guide

Rather than be repetive, I would suggest you go to the page on Penang.  Most of the places to see in Georgetown are mentioned there.  However, Not mentioned in that article are the Botanical Gardens, the Kek Lok Si Temple [see photo], Snake Temple, and Penang Hill.

The funicular railroad takes you up and down the hill.  When you get to the top you can see a great view of the surrounding area.  It is much cooler than at sea level and makes for a pleasant getaway.  It's better to go during the week than on the weekend because on the weekends there can be a long wait to get the train.  There are a lot of monkeys along the way, but be careful, they can snatch any food or bags you are carrying and can be quite unfriendly.
