Museums in Cameron highlands

Edit This
Hidden above the flat fields of Malaysia, with wet-soaked temperatures clinging cheerfully, waits Cameron Highlands; an unexpected weaving of Asian and British influences. With its namesake providing European styling and its natural culture keeping its traditions close, it is unique. And Cameron Highlands Museums prove that.

Time Tunnel Gallery

An uncommon blend of past and present, the Time Tunnel Gallery seeks to entertain without the use of artifacts or hands-on exhibits. Instead it traces the origin of Cameron Highlands through photography. This impressive collection highlights prominent families and historical events. Boldly displayed, these pictures help to explain the city and its traditions. It also has the distinction of being the only museum of its kind in the entire country. Families are encouraged to visit. It’s an ideal way to pass the hours.

Cameron Tringkap Bee Farm

This is perhaps not the immediate image to create when considering Cameron Highlands museums, but it does indeed fit within the name. The Tringkap Bee Farm seeks to educate visitors not only about the origins of honey production within the country but also the insects themselves. Performances will showcase the art of bee charming. Guests will be amazed by the wealth of information (and honey) to find here. Admission is free.

Boh Tea Centre

Yet another defiance of the museum assumption, the Boh Tea Centre is instead an interactive plantation, allowing visitors to tours its factory floors so they might learn of tea production. The museum also provides an information center that discusses the product’s role in the past. It’s a strange chronicle but is not to be missed.

Cameron Highlands museums are not the expected, but their offerings are still the ideal blend of culture and whimsy.
