Several day trips can be done in Tengger Massif after the sunrise at Mount Penanjakan. Such as: exploring the desert and sand dunes of Mount Bromo, visit the crater rims, visit a Hindu temple at the centre of the desert, climb Mount Batok and Bromo or visit Madakaripura waterfall.

Further a field, climb Mount Semeru takes few days.

From Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National park, usually travelers heading to Paiton, Probolinggo and Pasir Putih, Situbondo. After Situbondo, passes through Banyuwangi to Ketapang then catch a ferry to direction Gilimanuk, Bali island.
