There are several hostels and guest houses and hotel in Samosir island, along the edge of Lake Toba. Tuk Tuk has several and the location is strategic, nearby small harbour of Samosir and the tourist spot Cemetery of King Sidabutar.

Another option is stay at Ambarita at Tuk Tuk Peninsula. Quite far but less hectic. And from the waterfront, travelers can swim directly to the lake.

A nice budget place, contain of several 2 storey bungalows. Type single and double, bathroom included with hot water.  For meals, guests can order in the small resto in there and the owner allow the guests to have seat in their kitchen.  Facing directly to the lake, make it easily to have swim. Nice place to find sunrise over Lake Toba. And far from hectic. see: www.laketoba.de
