Getting There in Nias Selatan

Nias (Gunungsitoli) is accessible best by air. Merpati Nusantara has daily flights from Medan.

During the reconstruction activities, there are also flights by the UN (UNHAS) from Banda Aceh.

There is also a ferry service from Sibolga, on the western coast of North Sumatra, however, mostly used by locals.
