Getting There

Nias (Gunungsitoli) is accessible best by air. Merpati Nusantara has daily flights from Medan/North Sumatra.

During the reconstruction activities, there are also flights by the UN (UNHAS) from Banda Aceh.

There is also a ferry service from Sibolga, on the western coast of North Sumatra, however, mostly used by locals.
