The bustling city of Ambon, located on the island of the same name, is the biggest city in all Maluku and the capital of southern Maluku province. Its excellent facilities and transport connections make it the best gateway to Maluku. The city itself has few sights as such, but around Ambon Island you can find fine beaches, colonial forts and quiant villages.
