The words Kota, literally means 'city'. But once Jakartans saying Kota, it means Oud Batavia or Old Dutch quarter during past era.

This landmark consist of many old buildings, such as Museum and Piazza de Falatehan [Fatahillah], Museum Wayang, Batavia Cafe [the first cafe in Jakarta, still keep the old wooden floor and stairs], Museum Keramik dan Seni Rupa and several warehouses and train station.
