Jakarta History Museum
Edit This
Open: Sun, Tu-Th 9am-3pm, Fr 9am-2.30 pm, Sa 9am-12:30. Closed on Monday. You can reach this museum by using Transjakarta koridor 1. To Kota. After that, you can take a walk a little bit to this museum. This museum has lots of Jakarta historical things. Like Badui traditional things, old Portuguese clothes, old Cannon (said can give child), dungeons (very small rooms which was filled with hundreds of people), old well (said that if you hold an event here, you must give this well some kind of "gift" in European style such as Bread or wine. Otherwise, you will have lots of trouble). You can also see big painting of Jan Pieterzoen Coen, the Dutch who burned out Sunda Kelapa and then built Batavia (old Jakarta). You can also see his statue in Hoorn, Netherland. Very interesting place. If you feel hungry, just go across this building and you will find Cafe Batavia. Have a nice meal there.
