Getting There in Ratu Boko
Edit This
History behind my journey..
Two routes, two Sensation
There are two routes that can be used to get to Ratu Boko palace. The first route is through the "normal way". fork in the road Prambanan market, we turn to the right (south) to Jl. Jogja-Piyunan. Just follow the road until there is a green sign that listed the Keraton Ratu Boko. If you follow this route we will arrive at the main door Ratu Boko Palace Park and collected user charges 7,000 Rupiah per person, 1500 Rupiah for motorcycles, and 5,000 Rupiah for the car.
The second route is through "outbound path". Right at the border monument Yogyakarta, Central Java in the Prambanan, we turn right (south) to enter the lane, crossing the railway, and up to 2 Pereng Junior High School. Leave your car at the junior high school and walked until kakilah village Sumberwatu. To get to Sumberwatu village, you have to climb the hill and could ask the people around. Arriving in the Sumberwatu village ask the residents about the direction toward the palace of Ratu Boko. If you follow this route we can arrive at several locations in the Ratu Boko Palace Park and no fees charged for free aliases.
It turned out that our long journey to the Ratu Boko Palace, we see many remnants of history. One of them is a pond surrounded by stones berceruk. According to the inscription of the Rakai Panangkaran issued in 746-784 AD, the site area called Ratu Boko temple Abhayagiri which means temple situated on a hill full of peace. In the next period Abhayagiri renamed temple Walaing who was proclaimed Sultan Walaing Pu Kumbayoni Rakai. The name itself means Ratu Boko King Stork. It is not clear why it was named such, but it is thought there are lots of ancient heron inhabiting these sites.
