Jakarta is considered the “melting pot” of Indonesia, and is a great place to visit. This Jakarta Itinerary will help you organize your trip if you do decide to venture into Jakarta

Day 1 - Jakarta History Museum

The Jakarta History Museum, known as Taman Fatahillah, is located in Old Jakarta. This museum displays relics from many stages of Jakarta's history, including  prehistoric times, the city's first founding 1527, its colonization by the Dutch in the 16th century, andm finally, Indonesia’s independence in 1945.

Day 2 - Marine Tourism

The best way to enjoy the mystical archipelago of Indonesia is through its beautiful and crystal clear waters. You can choose from these wonderful marine tourism destinations all around Jakarta: Thousand Islands Marine Resort, or the islands of Bidadari, Ayer, Matahari, Putri, Pelangi, Sepa, Kotok, Bira Besar and Untung Jawa. 

Day 3 - Art and Culture

It’s nice to explore and discover the culture of the place you're visiting. You can  set aside a whole day to visit the following art and culture centers: Setu Babakan, Jakarta’s Art Center, the International, Usmar Ismail Hall, the Sekar Gallery and the Twilight Orchestra Jakarta.

Day 4 – Maritime Museum

Take a trip to the Maritime Museum and be amazed at the model ships on display. You will find various ship models dating back to the time of the Dutch and the East India Company. Visiting the museum is a great way to get to know the various types of ships that were used in the olden days.

Day 5 - Miniature Park

This is one of the most popular spots in Jakarta. The Miniature Park houses a flora and fauna museum, a walk-in bird aviary, an orchid garden, a specialty restaurant, and Museum Indonesia, which showcases a collection of Balinese-inspired houses and traditional costumes from every region in Indonesia.

Day 6 - Shopping Galore

Popular shopping spots in Jakarta are the Wholesale Center Tanah Abang Blok A, EX Plaza, Senayan City, Grand Indonesia and the Pasar Rawa Belong, to name just a few. There is so much to buy here, you might want toi dedicate more than one day to shopping.

Day 7- Massage Therapy

The best way to end your holiday in Jakarta is to get a good massage. There are several spas in Jakarta that offer excellent herbal treatments; these are not to be missed!
