Day Trips in Batam

and is also the part of Riau Islands
in Indonesia.
Although it is larger than Batam in area yet the population is very less. It is
well connected from Batam by ferry and you can get a speed boat every fifteen
minutes with a fare of Rp.30.00 and port taxes. It takes barely twenty to
thirty minutes to reach Bintan.

Island is famous for its beaches
and water sports. You can enjoy jet skiing, snorkeling, windsurfing, scuba diving
here. Trikora Beach,
the collective name for the northeastern beaches in Bintan, is famous here for
water activities though you can enjoy them in all the beaches.
You can also visit Penyengant
Island located in west Tanjung
Pinang in Bintan Island.
This was the site of Malay Kingdom
and once the leading and powerful center of Indonesian cultural history. It is

sites on this island. Sultan of Riau Grand Mosque believed to be built with the
use of egg white is a must see.
And for the nature lovers there is the mangrove tour wherein you can enjoy the diverse wildlife of the island. Look out for purple Helon, one of the largest birds in Asia. You can also come across yellow-and –black banded mangrove snakes or silver leaf monkey.
