Edit ThisWhen you want to have some more fresh air, rent a bike and explore the surroundings. There are a lot of little craft villages nearby, beautifully situated between the rice-fields. Day-trips can be made to the Monkey Forest and temples, such as the Goa Gajah and Penelokan. The latter is a must, not in the least because you can have some spectacular views of the Batur Volcano.

Mandala Wisata Wenara Wana
Edit ThisWenara Wana, taken from Sanskrit language, literally means monkey [wenara] forest [wana]. A greenery hills with monkeys inhabitat. In there also located 3 temples and temporary cemetery for Balinese before these dead bodies get Ngaben [crematory] by their families. Since Ngaben take lots of money and the people who left behind need to save it first before arrange a special ceremony called Ngaben.

famous ubud rice terraces
Edit ThisRice [padi] terraces is something famous from Ubud. Many visitors and photographers already take this beautiful landscape that made it spread worldwide. There are several points to take rice terraces in Ubud, such as in Padangtegal, Ubud Kelod and on the way from Kintamani to Ubud central.

Campuhan Temple
Edit ThisIn the backyard of famous Tjampuhan Hotel, can be found a small temple named Campuhan. The setting is nice, just follow the paths from the back of the hotel and walking through a wooden bridge that passing the confluence of the rivers Wos and Cerik.

Bird watching: egret at kokokan village
Edit ThisSome people say this kokokan [balinese] or blekok [javanese] also known as heron. but by looking the bird itself and some sources from the books, this bird catagorized as egret.
the best time to see them flying and back to the nests at the trees is about 5 - 6 pm at kokokan village, nearby the sawah [rice fields] and main road. there are several view points develops by locals in the centre of sawah and they provided a book to be read [not to be sold anyway :)]. you can also enjoy hot coffee or tea here while awaiting kokokan with more..
