Well worth a look at the Emerald Buddah. Lots of various styled architecture in the compound.

National Museum

Museum with walls open into a central courtyard. Mainly examples of statues and artifacts from various Angkorian temples (especially from the Siem Reap area).

Wat Phnom

The wat itself is nothing special but it's worth a trip to see the life around it and the view from the phnom (hill). Elephants available at the base for rides.

Tuol Sleng Museum

The museum is a former high school which became a Khmer Rouge prison and torture chamber during its reign of terror. The prison cells the hundreds of photographs of people killed in the prison the map of Cambodia made of human skulls the paintings detailing methods of torture used in the prison are horrifying—only seven out of more than 30 000 inmates survived. But part of what makes a visit there such an extraordinary emotional experience is that the guides have themselves had first-hand exposure to the excesses of the Khmer Rouge and they share their stories with visitors. more..

Royal Palace

Unfortunately the royal residence, set back from the riverfront, is closed to visitors but is still visible from the outside however, not worth seeing, located as it is between the Silver Pagoda and National Museum.
